It’s been a whirlwind!  I apologize for the delay in getting you some STAND 4 PEACE local information on our efforts to spread the Peace Pole Project’s universal message, May Peace Prevail On Earth.

We have 11 different Peace Poles associated with our local efforts in Manhattan Beach, CA (part of Los Angeles County).

I have registered all 8 Peace Poles for our all of our schools: Preschool, 5 Elementary Schools, Middle School and High School.

We also have one registered at our school district office.

Our former mayor, Hildy Stern had one for all the city to enjoy on a walk/run path with the peace pole seen by many everyday.

In 2024 we were able to spread the project to our community health center, Beach Cities Health District that serves multiple beach city communities with physical and mental programs. This pole is located in Redondo Beach, CA.

Screenshots of the registered Peace Poles on the Global Peace Pole Mapsite are below. I copied the story part and noted it below as it was not on the screenshots.

Here’s also our 2min highlight video from our beginnings in 2019 through the pandemic and peace pole exchange that started it all in 2020.

The YouTube link is a great recap of the 2023 installation for all the schools and district office. Funds for the poles were provided by our local Manhattan Beach Education Foundation.

Here is the story that is on the school district poles.

STAND 4 PEACE PEACE POLE PROJECT STORY:

*2023, peace poles for all the public schools in Manhattan Beach, CA were installed with support of the superintendent and staff and funded by the education foundation.

*2021 MB city’s 1st peace pole was planted, initiated by former Mayor Hildy Stern

*2020 Hildy Stern attended virtual peace pole exchange ceremony between MB’s Pennekamp Elementary and Emerson Elementary School in Compton, CA during the pandemic on peace day, 21 September 2020. This exchange was initiated by local peace education advocate group, STAND 4 PEACE. *Co-Founders Donna Nicholson-Pennekamp Elementary 1st Grade teacher, former MBUSD parent-Karen Wooldridge & peace partner-Erin Toppenberg have been the local sparks in spreading peace education and awareness of the peace pole project/Goi Foundation & UN Peace Day. The ripple effect continues today.

STAND 4 PEACE acknowledges Dr. Scilla Elworthy, Nobel peace nominee & Jeremy Gilley, Founder of Peace One Day for the education and motivation to stand for peace.

This is a recap canvas print that was given to our District Superintendent and the Director of our Ed Foundation in gratitude for their support.

We also did make a peace sign in front of of the police department and city hall with a peace pole at the center of the photo. ☮️
