On July 17, 2026, a Peace Pole was dedicated at the Ladakh Shanti Stupa, high in the mountains of Ladakh, India ~ a sacred place holding a profound legacy of peace.
The dedication brought together members of a small pilgrimage traveling with Unity Earth and World Weavers. Becky Suzik, representing May Peace Prevail On Earth International, presented a Peace Pole inscribed with the universal message May Peace Prevail On Earth in four languages: Hindi, English, Tibetan, and Urdu.
The ceremony was a beautiful weaving of two Japanese peace lineages: Nichidatsu Fujii and Masahisa Goi.
Two Peace Legacies Meet
The Ladakh Shanti Stupa was inspired by the global legacy of Nichidatsu Fujii, the Japanese Buddhist monk and founder of the Nipponzan Myohoji order. After World War II, Fujii Guruji dedicated his life to peace and, beginning in 1947, inspired the building of Peace Pagodas in many places around the world as shrines to world peace.
The Peace Pole carries the legacy of Masahisa Goi, founder of the movement that shares the universal message:
May Peace Prevail On Earth.
Born also from the aftermath of World War II, Goi Sensei’s message travels around the world through more than 200,000 planted Peace Poles, World Peace Flag Ceremonies, prayers and intentions of people from many nations, cultures, and spiritual traditions.
At Ladakh Shanti Stupa, these two peace legacies met in a simple and powerful way.

A Dedication in Ladakh
During the dedication, Tsering Samphel Secretary General of the Ladakh Shanti Stupa shared reflections on the legacy of Nichidatsu Fujii and the meaning of Shanti Stupa as a place dedicated to peace for all. Ben Bowler of Unity Earth and Becky Suzik of May Peace Prevail On Earth International honored the spirit of Masahisa Goi, the weaving together of the Japanese legacies, and the profundity of the peace pole resting now beside Ladakh Shanti Stupa.
