According to the Rotary Club’s President, Dan Ady, the installation was timed to coincide with Rotary’s anniversary and serves as both a celebration and a statement of purpose. The Peace Pole displays the message “May Peace Prevail On Earth” — a phrase authored by the late Masahisa Goi of Japan following the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The message appears in the host country’s language and additional languages, symbolizing inclusion and shared humanity.
