Three Peace Poles for Erlangen to celebrate 25 years of EFIE, Germany.

June 13, 2026

EFIE is a German association of dedicated citizens who volunteer to support asylum seekers and refugees.

Based in Erlangen, they firmly believe that no one leaves their home country without good reason to live in a foreign land under primitive conditions. Their goal is to welcome people seeking refuge in Germany and help them navigate daily life.

EFIE was founded in 2001 and celebrated its 25th anniversary Saturday, June 13th 2026 with a happy celebration.

Its highlight was the planting of 3 Peace Poles with 22 plaques in language translations, such as: Turkish, Polish, Farsi, Mandarin, Swahili and Hindi and many more.

Several members of Erlangen’s town council and the deputy mayor participated in the festivities.

Children of EIFIE’s children group had made paper peace doves and handed them out to everyone. The town’s officer for Cultural Affairs gave a speech.

The Peace Poles were planted next to a special monument commemorating the German reunification.

May Peace Prevail On Earth
