A Circle of Peace in Scotland: The Peace Pole Henge, Allanton Sanctuary, Dumfries, Scotland.
June 5, 2026
At May Peace Prevail On Earth International, we are continually moved by the many ways people carry the message of peace into the world.
Sometimes it appears in a school garden, where children gather around a newly planted Peace Pole, or it stands outside a church, a community center, a home, a park, or a place of healing.
In Scotland, it takes the form of a sacred circle. We hope you will take a minute to enjoy this brief video as Caroline Uchima of the Scotland Sanctuary shares a beautiful glimpse of their Peace Pole Henge ~ a circle of Peace Poles representing the 193 countries of the United Nations.
Standing within this special place, Caroline explains that as visitors walk clockwise around the Henge, they see the message repeated :
May Peace Prevail On Earth.
And when walk visitors counterclockwise, they are blessed with the message in the many different scripts and languages of each country.
Encountering the Peace Pole Henge gifts one message in many languages; one prayer, many nations; one Earth, held in a circle of hope.
When a Peace Pole is planted, something changes in the landscape. A garden becomes a gathering place. A schoolyard becomes a place of reflection. A community center becomes a visible home for hope. A neighborhood is reminded that peace is something we can practice, nurture, and share right where we are.
The Peace Pole Henge in Scotland invites us to imagine the whole human family encircled by peace. Each country, each language, each culture, each community is held within the same prayer:
May Peace Prevail On Earth.
And while most of us may not plant 193 Peace Poles in a great circle, each one of us can help plant the message of peace where we live.
You might plant a Peace Pole in your garden, at your school, outside your place of worship, near a community center, in a public park, at a retreat center, or in front of your business. You might invite children, neighbors, friends, elders, students, or community members to help dedicate it. You might gather for a simple ceremony, a moment of silence, a song, a blessing, or a shared prayer for the world.
A Peace Pole needs only to be planted with intention.
Each Peace Pole becomes part of a global movement ~ a visible network of people and places affirming that peace is possible, peace is needed, and peace is something we are called to help create.
If you feel inspired to plant a Peace Pole where you are, we invite you to explore the Peace Poles available through ShopPeace.org. If you already have a Peace Pole, please add it to the Global Peace Pole Map to help others see how this message continues to travel across countries, cultures, and communities.
Together, we plant reminders of the possibility of Peace.
May peace be in our homes and communities.
May peace be in every country and every heart.
May Peace Prevail On Earth.
