Pacific University Dedicates Peace Pole in Hillsboro, Newberg, Oregon, USA.

Against the backdrop of war unfolding overseas, a small marker of peace has been planted in Hillsboro.

Leaders from Pacific University joined local Rotarians on Thursday, April 9, to dedicate a peace pole at the university’s Hillsboro campus — part of a broader effort to install similar markers promoting peace and unity locally and around the world.

“These poles are visual reminders of peace designed to inspire unity among people of all cultures, ethnicities and backgrounds,” Blake Timm, Pacific’s associate director of communications and the western region area governor for Rotary District 5100, said.
