THE VIGIL for PEACE & ECOLOGY

Sunday, 16th of September 2018

NYC Central Park, Bandshell

On the 16th. of September 2018, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm,The Vigil for Peace & Ecology celebrated the 17th annual anniversary since its inception at the 9/11 site in 2001.

We wish to thank everybody from the fullness of our hearts to all our friends and colleagues, and all those who are committed to World Peace.

We were so proud to display and wave once again the wonderful International Flags from the World Peace Prayer Society which hold a special meaning to me, since we celebrated the first time together in 1996 at the United Nations to commemorate the International Day of Peace.

Rev. Deborah Moldow and Monica Willard were the first ones to join me and our friends with James Cannings in Central Park on the day of our initial launch on the 21stof September 2002.

MISSION: The Vigil for International Peace is a transformational, grassroots effort dedicated to promulgate peace through participation in art, song, dance, music, prayer and ceremony. The purpose of this Vigil is to awaken humanity to harmony and peace through the power of intent and celebration. Our vision is to heal and bridge our lives and communities to achieve divinity alignment and recognize the oneness in all

UN Resolution 55/282: “Declares that the International Day of Peace shall henceforth be observed as a day of global ceasefire and non-violence, an invitation to all nations and people to honour a cessation of hostilities for the duration of the Day. This Resolution was based on Res.36/67 of 1981

Once again we all wish to thank our partners, sponsors and volunteers.

In this period of global uncertainty, we thank you for participating in this vision to bring lasting peace to all the peoples of the world.

Greetings and Blessings

Rev. Susana Bastarrica, Founder/ Coordinator
