Peace Pole Dedication Ceremony at Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA, USA

Dickinson College has partnered with the local Rotary chapters to install a Peace Pole on campus.
On Wednesday, September 9th, 2026 at 4 p.m., college invited their guests to gather behind East College, at the corner of Louther and West Streets.
It commenced with welcoming speech by Brad Griffe, President, Rotary Club of Carlisle-Sunrise and Judy Wheaton, President, Rotary Club of Carlisle.
Remarks were then made from John E. Jones III, President, Dickinson College followed by a musical performance by J. Sherwood McGinnis, Jr. War, Peace, and Justice Project. Ode to Joy – Ludwig van Beethoven/adapted by Pete Seeger
In Closing: Guest were invited to place a commemorative stone along the pathway as a symbol understanding and shared hope of a more peaceful future.
