Peace Pole Dedicated in Nousiainen, Finland.

The Peace Pole project was initiated by Ilari Suominen president of the Rotary Club of Nousiainen. He was also the designer and main implementer of the pole. The Peace Pole features the universal message “May Peace Prevail On Earth” inscribed in Finnish, Swedish, English and Ukrainian. On the top of the pole is a dove is bearing an olive branch and sitting on the Rotary wheel.

The Peace Pole was dedicated on August 15 by Nousiainen mayor Teemu Heinonen and Nousiainen vicar Jarno Johansson. After opening the event Heinonen gave the floor to Johansson.
“The message of the Peace Pole is simple, but strong wish, petition and pray. Jesus said that peace makers are blessed. These words call on each of us to do our part to build peace. May this Peace Pole be a visible sign here in Nousiainen that peace is worth nurturing, defending and building every day.”
The Peace Pole is in Rotary Park in Nousiainen. The park is open for everyone.
