Dedication of Peace Pole, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, USA

At 8:45 am on Sunday morning, July 12, 2026, we gathered for a prayer service for the Peace Pole that had just been installed on the grounds of St John’s United Church of Christ, 1811 Lincoln Way E, in Chambersburg, PA. A history of the origin of the Peace Pole and the reading of several prayers about peace found on the United Church of Christ website by those in attendance.
The Peace Pole is installed in front of the church entrance where it can be seen by everyone. The addition of the world decal at the bottom of the Peace Pole reflects that peace is desired by all peoples. The labyrinth decal represents a path in our spiritual journey. Thank you for making the Peace Pole available as a symbol for all to see, reminding us that peace can be achieved. Let it begin with me.
