Ladner United Church to re-dedicate Peace Pole, Ladner, Delta,  BC-Canada

October 26, 2025

Ladner United Church hosted a Peace Pole ceremony on Sunday, Oct. 26, to re-dedicate its Peace Pole.

Two decades ago, Ladner Village and the surrounding area hosted several Peace Poles that featured peace messages in several languages, inscribed in the wood.

Many of the Peace Poles have disappeared over the years; the one at Ladner United Church was taken down a decade ago when the church building underwent a major renovation.

On Sunday, Oct. 26, Peace Sunday in The United Church of Canada, the local church dedicated its Peace Pole, which has been reinstalled at the front of the building, facing 48 Ave.

Tod Jensen, the teacher who headed the Peace Pole project, was present to share some of the history of the Peace Poles and their student creators. The short dedication began at 11:30 a.m., outside the front door near the reinstalled Peace Pole.

Ladner United Church is located at 4960 48 Ave. in Ladner.
