A Moment to Embrace Peace Across Borders
On the occasion of the International Day of Peace 2026, Living Peace Philippines traveled to the city of Cebu in the southern Philippines to hold a special peace education activity.
The gathering brought together educators, trainers, and young people, creating a space for sharing experiences, listening to one another, and engaging in meaningful dialogue about peace education.
The session focused on practical strategies for peace education, tools that can help participants foster dialogue, understanding, respect, and peaceful coexistence. Through exchanging ideas and personal experiences, participants explored ways to strengthen a culture of peace and nurture peaceful relationships in their communities.
The programme concluded with a planetary moment, inviting everyone to open their hearts and embrace all countries of the world—with their challenges and suffering, but also with their dreams, contributions, and commitment to peace.
And what better way to do this than through the World Peace Flag Ceremony?
In just a few minutes, the atmosphere of the gathering was transformed. Everyone became a bearer of peace, holding in their hands the flags of the world and carrying deep within their hearts a wish that becomes a prayer:

A simple message.

A commitment that crosses borders, cultures, and generations.
From Cebu, the call for peace continues to travel—from heart to heart, from community to community, from one country to the whole world.
