Peace Pole Beacon of Hope at Ridges Elementary School, Sherwood, Oregon – USA

This portable Peace Pole was a “shining beacon of hope” at Ridges Elementary School in Sherwood, Oregon, where I was a substitute 3rd grade teacher on the day after the Texas Elementary School Massacre 2022. 

My local Rotary Club of Sherwood provided this Peace Pole years ago.  There it was, this Peace Pole, in the main entrance lobby when I reported for duty. The sight of the Peace Pole brought me to my knees with gratefulness for the work YOU are doing.

In my classroom, we had 100% attendance on May 25, 2022; the ethnic diversity is wide in this school which is the largest public elementary school in School District #88J.
