Peace Pole Planting Ceremony at the German International School, Doha – QATAR

The German International School in Doha had to postpone the Peace Pole planting for 2 years, due to the Corona virus lockdown.
On April 4th, 2022, the entire student body (kindergarten through high school) to include administrators such as Mr. Heiler, Principal and Dr. Claudius Fischbach, Ambassador of Germany in Qatar and Mrs Diana Wiese, from the Cultural Departmentof the German Embassy,unveiled the Peace Pole.
Unfortunately, due to the pending Corona virus restrictions, only a portion of the student body were present.
Sarah, a student representative announced, “It is our hope that human beings communicate with each other in the way they teach “us” children to use words and not violence!“
Principal, Mr. Heiler commented that he is happy to have the Peace Pole in the outdoor entrance area and that he is proud to be part of the worldwide Peace Pole network.
Pupils of all age groups prepared activities for the April 4th event, under the theme, “ peaceful together.”
