Promoting “Peace” Banks County, Georgia, USA

Mar 18, 2026

The Banks County Rotary Club celebrated the placement of the Peace Pole in downtown Homer by meeting on the lawn of the historic courthouse to view the pole and discuss its meaning.

“Today, we are excited to share hope in our community as we dedicate our Peace Pole,” Rotary Club president Tricia Massey stated. “The Peace Pole is more than a monument; it is a symbol of hope, compassion, unity and peace.”

Last week, Banks County Rotary was honored to take part in the dedication of a Peace Pole in our community.

Peace Poles carry the message, “May Peace Prevail On Earth,” in the languages of the world and are recognized as an international symbol dedicated to peace on earth. Planted in communities across every continent, Peace Poles serve as a reminder to cultivate peace in thought, word, and action.

We are grateful to be part of something that reflects a shared hope for peace, harmony, and unity in our community and beyond.
