Vigil at Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia
December 14, 2025
On Friday, December 14th, at Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia, was the site of a violent terrorist attack that resulted in multiple deaths and injuries within the Jewish community, including children. The loss experienced by families and its far-reaching impact on the world was truly devastating.

Five days after the tragic events at Bondi, members of Rotary Adelaide organised a moving Vigil for Bondi at the Rotary Peace Pole in Prospect, South Australia. Together with members and friends of local Rotary Clubs and the community, around 50 people gathered in a moving display of hope and solidarity. This special vigil was organised to honour the victims and all those affected by the events at Bondi Beach. Family, friends, neighbours, and anyone seeking healing and strength were welcome to participate in this meaningful occasion.
During the vigil, attendees laid flowers and left heartfelt messages of peace. The Peace Pole served as a symbol of shared commitment to unity, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of peace. It created a location for the community to stand side by side to remember those impacted by the tragedy and to express support for the Jewish community, reaffirming our dedication to healing and supporting one another both locally and across the nation at times like this.
May Peace Prevail on Earth.
