World Peace Flag Ceremony – A Global Moment of Prayer and Unity, Rome, Italy.

January 1, 2026

The World Peace Flag Ceremony took place on January 1, 2026, marking the closing of a shared moment of prayer for peace.

Two hundred and fifty teenagers from 27 countries, representing four continents, participated in Scuola Foco, a formative experience for young people ages 14 to 17 connected to the Ecumenical and Interreligious Movement of the Focolare. The program centers on Gospel spirituality, mutual love, and the building of bridges through dialogue.

These educational experiences blend spiritual growth, shared life, and meaningful encounters, and are often held in places such as the Encounter Center in Castel Gandolfo. Living Peace International works closely in this initiative, which expresses the Charism of Unity of Chiara Lubich, founder of the Focolare Movement.

The World Peace Flag Ceremony was held in the square next to the Pontifical Palace, where Pope Leo XIV spends several days each week.

This video seeks to capture the profound atmosphere of prayer and reflection, offering a visible sign of shared commitment to peace and a celebration of the unity of the human family.

May Peace Prevail On Earth!
