Hexagon Peace Pole planted for IDP in Nelson, British Columbia, Canada
September 21, 2025
We decided to have 12 languages intoned 3x each by native speakers from the community. The indigenous opening speaker sang a traditional song while playing her drum and gave moving words as a flock of geese honked by.

Spontaneously, one speaker asked the audience to join her in saying “May Peace Prevail On Earth” in French with her, word by word. The Italian, Russian, Hindi, Ukrainian, Japanese, Chinese-Cantonese, did the same. So, one- hundred people were joined by intoning each language translation of the words, “May Peace Prevail On Earth.” Very cool! In a world of anti-immigrant talk, the diversity of this community was celebrated.

The Ukrainian speaker in full traditional dress, showed 8”x10″ pictures of children who had been killed. As we all spoke, May Peace prevail On Earth in Ukrainian aloud.
Truly a rich moment in my life and feeling such gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate peace.
Thank you for the support I feel from you personally in my work.
