A second Peace Pole ceremony held at Recreation Park in Auburn, California, USA

A second Peace Pole ceremony was held Aug. 28 at Recreation Park in Auburn, California attended by several Rotarians as well as City Manager Sean Rabé, Mayor Sandy Amara and Councilwoman Alice Dowdin-Calvillo. Rotary Area Governor Bill Kenney also attended.

The other Peace Pole, at School Preserve Park, was dedicated earlier in August. Both were funded by the Rotary Club of Auburn.  Peace Poles inscribed with the message “May Peace Prevail On Earth” in eight languages. The presentation was provided by the presidents of the five Rotary clubs in Auburn: Nancy Bender of Auburn Rotary, Ingrid Pearson of Gold Country Rotary, Karen Hancock of Sierra Passport Rotary, Ray Ward of Sunset Rotary and Jonathan Stefani of Rotaract. The ceremony concluded with everyone singing “Let There Be Peace on Earth.”
