As a build-up to the 2026 United Nations International Day of Peace Celebration, May Peace Prevail on Earth International, Nigeria, through her Peace Representative, has set up a World Peace Day Steering Committee with Dr. Godwin Kave as Chairman; Mr. Ini Jimmy as Secretary; and Alhaji Rabiu Almu Rabiu, JP; High Chief Kefas Mker, JP; Amb. Nwokocha Christian; Amb. Ola Ololade; Amb. Aniebiet Abraham; Ubong Udoumoh; Engr. Emmanuel Mbat; Engr. Mfon Akpan; Barr. Joseph Boaz; and Evan Friday Obong as members of the Steering Committee for the UNIDP Celebration in Nigeria.
The Peace Day, planned for Monday, September 21, 2026, at Corporate Residence by Enchelon Hotel, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, is expected to have Religious Leaders, Traditional Rulers, the Political Class, Television and Newspaper/Media representatives, Students, Members of the Academia, Women, and Youths in attendance.
The World Peace Day Celebration will feature Peace Pole planting; the presentation of Desktop Peace Poles and Certificates to Ambassadors of Peace; distribution of stickers with the message MAY PEACE PREVAIL ON EARTH; a keynote lecture on the global theme, “INVEST IN PEACE”; and distribution of educational materials, including exercise books, to needy children.
As a build-up to the 2026 United Nations International Day of Peace Celebration in Nigeria by May Peace Prevail on Earth International, we have had a series of meetings by the Steering Committee, visits to some Religious Leaders and Traditional Rulers, visits to a Motherless Home, and distribution of customized exercise books with May Peace Prevail on Earth on them to needy children as our way of investing in peace. Many stakeholders have endorsed the Peace Day Celebration, including His Royal Majesty King Godspower Onukwa, PhD.
We also plan to produce Peace Buttons with the inscription MAY PEACE PREVAIL ON EARTH, and we are praying for resources to support this initiative.
