The Club Peacebuilding Committee has executed successfully the Peace Pole project at St. Petersburg High School. A beautiful dedication ceremony took place on Monday, February 23rd, 2026, on the day of Rotary International’s 121st Anniversary.

In attendance were the School Principal Mrs. Darlene Lebo and Mrs. Michele Diaz, Assistant Principal Athletics & Activities, the President of the Student Government Rafael Faraci, the Interact Club President, as well as several faculty members and students.

On the Rotary side, Rotary International District Governor Ms. Becky Bennett, and District Peace Committee Chair PDG Eloy Nunez, Club President Jim Williams, as well as a large number of Rotarians from the club, the district, and beyond attended this event.

The wife and daughter of late PP Peter Armacost, in whose memory a plaque was dedicated also attended the ceremony.

The School Band, as well as the Pitchforks Vocal and the JROTC, presented the flags, and played the National Anthem and the school Alma Mater, as well as a Peace Song “Let There Be Peace on Earth”.

School Principal Darlene, as well as DG Becky, Club President Jim, Student Government President Rafael, and Master of Ceremony and Project Leader George Beyrouti gave inspiring messages about the importance of creating a more peaceful society which starts with each one of us.
