“May Peace Prevail on Earth.”
These are the words inscribed in multiple languages on an estimated quarter of a million Peace Poles, found in every country.
The International Peace Pole Project, a Project of May Peace Prevail On Earth International describes the Peace Poles as an “internationally-recognized symbol of the hopes and dreams of the entire human family, standing vigil in silent prayer for peace on earth.”
Dedicated on April 27 of this year, Balboa Park’s Peace Pole was made possible by the Rotary E-club of San Diego Global, San Diego Downtown Breakfast Rotary Club, and the City of San Diego.
The next time you’re near the international cottages look for the Peace Pole, and wish goodwill towards your fellow humans around the world!
