Prayers said at Peace Pole in Pittencrieff Park in Dunfermline, Fife, SCOTLAND

Members of all faiths gathered to remember the people of Ukraine and to reflect on the need for peace in the world.

Organised by the Abbey Church of Dunfermline, church leaders and representatives of Dunfermline Central Mosque and the Fife Interfaith group were all in attendance.

Dunfermline Abbey minister, the Reverend MaryAnn Rennie, said: “By gathering here at the peace pole, and not just focusing on churches or religious buildings, we are noticing that peace is an ambition that belongs to the wider community – to the world.”

The Peace Pole was placed in Pittencrieff Park as part of the Dalai Lama’s visit to Dunfermline in 2004.
