The Caravan of Unity Across America is set to begin in September 2020, it will be the culmination of many events across the globe. A display of solidarity designed to bring together grass-roots movements such as ecology and the arts. As well as wisdom traditions and social justice.

This historic tour will begin in San Francisco on September 1, 2020 and conclude in New York on the International Day of Peace, September 21, in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #16 (Peace).

The Goal’s aim is to “Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels” according to FDSD.ORG

On Saturday Jim attended the Unity Earth Lift Off Road to 2020, held at the historic United Palace Theatre in Washington Heights. The Lift Off was a multigenerational, intercultural and interactive concert in celebration of the UN’s World Interfaith Harmony Week.

The event brought together musicians such as Pato Banton and Kristin Hoffamnn, Indigenous Leaders Chief Dwaine Perry (Chief of the Ramapough – Lunaape Nation) and Chief Phil Lane Jr. (Hereditary Dakota Chief), Diplomats and Scientists such as Dr. Mindahi Bastida – the Director at the Center for Earth Ethics, Peacemaker Sister Jenna, Syed Salman Chishty and Rick Ulfik – the Founders of We, Interfaith and Faith-based Activists like Audrey Kitagwa – the Chair of the Parliament of the World’s Religions.

A 45 minute showing of the film Bella Gaia comprised of stunning images from the International Space Station. The movie had enlightening overlays of data showing the impact of humans on our planet. The entire event was a showcase of Unity and Peace.
