Three Peace Poles were installed around Rockford, during special dedication. One of the ceremonies took place at Pothikaran Lao Buddhist Temple on South Mulford Road, near Blackhawk Road. The Peace Poles are a popular way of expressing peace not only around the world, but right here in Rockford.
“This Peace Pole is for everybody, not just the Buddhists, but for every religion to understand that we are together,” says Ken Linthakhan.
There are now more than 30 Peace Poles in and around Rockford.
More than 200 people help spread the message of peace by installing Peace Poles as reminders of unity and friendship
