“Hello, my name is Mai Hoang Lam, and I come from Vietnam. This is my first time participating, and I am truly honored to have received the Second Prize. I have grown up in peace, but my country once went through years of war and great loss, especially for children.

Through the stories my grandfather shared about those difficult times, I imagined the past and created my painting. In my artwork, a little boy holds a book, his eyes looking toward the future. Above him, white doves rise into the sky — carrying a longing for peace. I hope that every child in the world can grow up under a peaceful sky.”
