Members of the Galveston Rotary Club joined community leaders, residents, and partners from Galveston Regional Commerce to celebrate the installation of a Peace Pole at the corner of Post Office Street and 22nd Street in downtown Galveston.

This meaningful ceremony highlighted a collaborative effort to promote unity, goodwill, and Rotary’s mission of Service Above Self. The Peace Pole — an internationally recognized symbol — now stands as a lasting reminder of Galveston’s commitment to harmony, inclusion, and global understanding. Our pole contains the phrase “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in the eight languages most spoken in Texas: English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Tagalog, Arabic, Hindi, and Urdu.
Thank you to Galveston Regional Commerce for organizing the installation and to everyone who joined us in celebrating peace and community connection. Together, we continue to strengthen downtown Galveston while fostering cooperation and goodwill for residents and visitors alike.
