Ananya Nandanwar Peace Pals International Finalists 2025, Age 8, India
Why I created the artwork?
The idea behind my artwork, “Freedom,” was to show fraternity and friendship between many societal spheres, nations, etc. There should be no discrimination on the basis of nationality, socioeconomic status, race, caste, or religion. Freedom of thinking and the ability to do as one pleases will foster development, strength, and power, which will result in the prosperity and advancement of mankind.

In order to convey the love and care that Mother Earth has for all of her children, I also put her holding us in her gentle hands. In order to preserve the ecological balance and live in peace with nature, all living beings should have the freedom and right to exist.
What freedom means to me?
For me, freedom entails making friends with those who share my values without bias. To me, being free means having fun with my pals. It refers to going on trips, having sleepovers and enjoying pizza parties with them. Freedom can also sometimes imply not studying. It entails losing myself in dance, sketching my ideas, and designing my own clothing.
