The 2025 Goi Peace Foundation award ceremony was held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Nikkei Hall in Tokyo. Jeremy Gilley, recipient of the 2025 Goi Peace Award, visited Japan to attend the award ceremony and deliver a commemorative lecture at the Goi Peace Foundation Forum.
Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by the Saionji family, Chairperson, President, Vice President, and the daughter of the Vice President at a dinner gathering, where he was presented with a desktop Peace Pole. During the exchange, Jeremy’s roots and deep connection to Japan were revealed, and it became clear that he holds special feelings about this award.

His grandfather was a prisoner of war and was held in a camp near Nagasaki. However, after the war, he regarded this as a past event and valued the importance of creating peace for the future. Even when Japanese people who were unaware of this history stayed at the accommodation facility he managed, he never mentioned the past and treated them no differently from other guests. His grandfather was also born in 1916, the same year as Masahisa Goi, the spiritual leader. Furthermore, the organization Jeremy founded, Peace One Day, was established in 1999, the same year as the Goi Peace Foundation. Both organizations have been dedicated to world peace for 26 years. And at this 80th anniversary since the end of the war, their mutual connection has matured, leading to his receiving the award and his visit to Japan.
Upon learning about the Peace Pole, a grassroots peace activity with over 55 years of history promoted by May Peace Prevail On Earth International, the predecessor and sister organization of the Goi Peace Foundation, and recognizing its global spread and the peace-conscious awareness of people around the world, he joyfully praised the Peace Pole. The following day, he visited an international school in Tokyo, where he interacted with children, conveying the importance of peace and allowing them to think about and discuss it.

On the third day of his visit, he appeared at the Goi Peace Foundation Forum, where he received a certificate and a medal at the award ceremony. After introducing his activities using a short movie, he delivered a commemorative speech. He engaged in on-stage dialogue with Mr. & Mrs. Saionji about peace activities, various experiences, and ideas for future film production.

On the fourth day, at a Peace Convergence event, he led a full-day workshop in a dialogue format with approximately 40 peace leaders from diverse backgrounds. All participants were greatly inspired and deepened their network solidarity while becoming more conscious than ever of collaboration with colleagues from other organizations.

On the fifth day, he interacted with staff members of the Goi Peace Foundation and, while answering interviews, also filmed videos responding to questions collected from participants on the day of the Forum. The topics discussed included the following:
- His deep sense of crisis regarding the current state of the world today
- How he has continued working for 26 years, cherishing each day to achieve peace
- His focus on narrative and storytelling as the center of persuasive power
- That content itself has the power to change people
- His broad approach from micro to macro to win people’s engagement
- The importance of subtlety and the importance of spirituality
- His pursuit of marketing methods through five stages—information, inspire, engage, impact, measure—to spread peace and raise awareness
- The explosive growth of SNS reached from 400,000 in 2023, to 4 million in 2024, to 13 million in 2025
- The importance of reaching out to the business world that has great influence and the utilization of LinkedIn
- His vision for a film planned for production next year
In any case, it became an opportunity for the Foundation staff to be incredibly stimulated and motivated. It was an excellent learning experience that highlighted his habit of carefully considering his actions before proceeding. For him, too, the foundation staff’s ideas and initiatives were inspiring, especially what the young intern, Miki-san, had to share. Mr. Jeremy Gilley expressed his enthusiasm about future collaboration. Jeremy Gilley’s organization: Peace One Day. An online broadcast of the event will be available on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
