Dina Shabani Nezhad, 2024, Peace Pals International – 1st Place Winner from Iran

November 23, 2025

Dina comes from a family where art and human rights intersect. Her father is a human rights lawyer, and her mother is a painter. Growing up, she witnessed countless conversations about how art can serve as a powerful tool for spreading ideals like peace, justice, equality, and freedom.

Please listen to Dina’s Inspirational Story on how she chose her artwork.

When she learned about Peace Pals International and its mission to promote global peace, she felt inspired and eagerly participated in the annual contests. In 2024, her artwork on the theme of “Love” earned first place—a piece she created not only with brushes and colors but also with love and hope. As she painted, she whispered the phrase, “May peace prevail on Earth,” embodying her deepest wishes for a better world.

Following her achievement, Dina’s success was covered by Iranian news outlets, bringing a wave of positivity and temporarily overshadowing news of conflict and destruction. Her accomplishment also sparked enthusiasm among her peers, leading to a peace-themed art exhibition organized by the local Department of Education. Dina was honored at a celebration attended by parents and educators, where her message of peace and friendship was widely applauded.

None of this would have been possible without the inspiring vision of Peace Pals International and the dedication of its team. Thank you for everything you do to nurture young talents and spread hope across the world.
