In collaboration with Rita Roberto’s “Associazione Mandala Vita” (Mandala Life Association), we organized a peace event on May 3rd, linked to International Labyrinth Day.

In the center of a large labyrinth, we held a World Peace Prayer Ceremony (WPPC) with about 60 people, using small flags. We prayed for peace in each country and recited the word “peace”  in all national languages from around the world.

My friend Rita has deepened her research on labyrinths through years of study, experience, and her various activities. She guides children, couples, and families facing problems and difficult issues, through labyrinth seminars where participants walk the labyrinth in peace prayer and engage in various exercises.

She maintains a large labyrinth placed all the times at her rural home. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the center and back. Many people have experienced regaining peace by walking this labyrinth in peace prayers —either calming their own hearts or sharing their hearts with a partner through conversation while walking the same path together.

This labyrinth is the same as the one at the Allanton Peace Sanctuary in Scotland. It is not a maze-like labyrinth; instead, it guides you without confusion to the center and back along the same path. It can be seen as a symbol of life’s journey. At the center of Rita’s labyrinth stands a handmade Peace Pole, and this center holds an especially powerful energy.

Our flag ceremony on May 3rd was very beautiful and joyful.  Many participants experienced the flag ceremony for the first time, and they loved carrying flags being a peace ambassodor and seeing all the nations becoming ONE FAMILY in the centre of the labyrinth, while they offered peace prayer words for each country and united their voices and hearts!
