Canton Montessori Celebrates Peace Pole, Canton, Ohio USA

Canton Montessori in Canton, Ohio celebrated the start of their school year with a Peace Pole Planting along with two celebrations.

The first Celebration was at the planting of the Peace Pole on September the 7th, 2019. They placed the Peace Pole, which they made themselves in front of the school as a united symbol of their mission to promote Peace through teaching.

The first celebration took place during their all school meeting with the board present. The students were asked to reflect upon the idea of those who are in need, and faced North, South, East and West while doing so.

On September 20th, 2019 a second dedication was performed. This to coincide with the UN’s International Day of Peace on September the 21st. The students sang “March for Peace” by Frank Leto as a group.
