Symphony of Peace Prayer Flag Ceremony at The World Peace Sanctuary, Wassaic, NY

On Sunday, May 19, 2019, The rain generously held back, creating space for the sun to shine through, and the clouds parted to reveal a soft blue sky.

People from the community joined us at the World Peace Sanctuary for the Symphony of Peace Prayer- Flag Ceremony held in conjunction with the 15th Annual International Symphony of Peace Prayer-(SOPP).

SOPP is a global peace event, held each year at the Fuji Sanctuary in Japan and joined by thousands of people from around the world.  People formed groups in nearly every country throughout the world, holding SOPP Ceremonies in their native languages.

All gathered in a circle for the Ceremony, as each of the 193 country names were announced.

Flag cards representing each country were then placed at the base of the Peace Pole to create a colorful Mandala Tapestry, as all declared in unison, “May Peace Prevail on Earth!”

Closing of the event was marked by giving gratitude to the Earth and all elements of nature.

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate.

May Peace Prevail on Earth.

May Peace Prevail to all Life on Earth.
