The Schengen Lyceum is a modern co-project high school on the border between Luxembourg and Germany, where students also attend from France.  The school proudly represents  “a Europe without borders.”

The school`s headmaster participated in the Peace Pole dedication ceremony that took place in Schengen in 2013 with  Masami Saionji, Chairperson of The World Peace Prayer Society and ever since then, he has wanted to have a Peace Pole at Schengen Lyzeum high school.

Since 2014 is the 100th anniversary of “World War I”, many politicians attended the Peace Pole Dedication Ceremony, such as:  Luxembourg`s Prime Minister Mr. Böttel, Minister of Family and Education in Luxembourg, Mrs. Carinne Cahen, Minister for Finance and Europe in Saarland/Germany, Mr. Toscani, Mayor of Perl, Bruno Schmidt, Prime Minister of the German Community in Belgium, several district chiefs, many parents and students and headmasters from other schools.

To close the ceremony, the school choir sang the song by Michael Jackson  “HEAL THE WORLD.”

The Schengen Lyceum`s Peace Pole is located at the main entrance of the school.  The universal peace message, May Peace Prevail On Earth, is expressed on three sides of the Peace Pole in the following languages,  Luxembourgish, German and French.  The the 4th side of the Peace Pole remains blank to receive signatures of the 2 Prime Ministers ( from Saarland and Luxembourg). Those signatures will be given in autumn 2014.
