Youth for Peace

NEPAL

Update from Katmandu

Dear everyone, Namaste

Volunteer Day celebration by Youth Society for Peace (YSP) was a great successes altogether. We had a participation of about 150 people and the amazing part was that inspite of the cold Saturday(holiday) morning people turned up to appreciate and encourage us & took part in the activities that we had organized.

The very young girls and boys from 'Bal bhojan Program' of street children were a great inspiration and pleasure to watch. Very actively some students from Hindu Vidyapeeth school were holding "play cards" such as; 'Once a volunteer always a volunteer',  and "There is no way to peace, peace is the way", and so on, which was highly appreciated by the reputed personalities taking part in the program. The way those young hands took up the brooms to clean the temple and its surrounding was a feast to the eyes.YSP gave these young participants  a small stationary gift as a token of thanks.
Then there was of the burning the peace lights in the active initiation of Shanti Sewa Ashram (SSA) that gave us all a sense of togetherness.

Then we had the donation programme where we helped a school in a very rural, eastern part of Nepal. We helped by giving tution and fees to the school for a student for a year & then supplying the school child with as much stationary, clothes and everything that we had been successful in collecting.

The most inspiring words form the chief guest Dr. Prabha Basnet member secretary of Social Welfare Council, organizers and our dear beloved patron, C.M. Yogi definitely did make us feel " Yes, it is high time we do something to bring peace".

I also want to thank the singers who singed and made everybody express what is always in our hearts.......love for the world and all the being that reside here.

At last i want to thanks all the peace seekers for being a part of the YSP programme and we extend our heartfelt gratitude towards everyone who helped.
