Directions to The World Peace Sanctuary

Only about 2 hours north of New York City by car, The World Peace Sanctuary is located in a beautifully scenic area of Eastern Dutchess County in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains.

Just off Rt. 22, south of Amenia, New York, it occupies 154 peaceful acres near the Connecticut border.

From New York City & Westchester
FDR Drive North to Willis Ave. Bridge to Major Deegan North to Saw Mill River Parkway to 684 North to Route 22 North. Go through Pawling and Dover Plains and continue north. At signs for Taconic DDSO and Tenmile River Station, turn right onto County Road 105 (Sinpatch Road). Stay right, go over railroad tracks. When Sinpatch Road takes a left turn, take the slightly further left onto Benton Road. The Sanctuary will be on the right.

From Massachusetts & Connecticut
Take Route 7 to Kent, CT to Route 341 West towards NY State (Bog Hollow Road). Go to end. Go left 1/2 mile to Benton Road on left.

From Long Island and Queens:
Whitestone Bridge to Hutchinson River Parkway North to Route 684 North to Route 22 North. Go through Pawling and Dover Plains and continue north. At signs for Taconic DDSO and Tenmile River Station, turn right onto County Road 105 (Sinpatch Road). When Sinpatch Road takes a left turn, take the slightly further left onto Benton Road. The Sanctuary will be on the right.

From Albany
87 South to 90 East to Taconic South to 44 East. At traffic light in Millbrook, take 343 to 22 North. Turn left on Route 105 to Benton Road.

From Poughkeepsie/Beacon:
Route 44 East (past Millbrook, NY), turns into Route 343. Follow signs to Route 22 North, go about 2 miles. At signs for Taconic DDSO and Tenmile River Station, turn right onto County Road 105 (Sinpatch Road). Stay right, go over railroad tracks. When Sinpatch Road takes a left turn, take the slightly further left onto Benton Road. The Sanctuary will be on the right.

From Woodstock/Kingston (most direct route):
209 North to Kingston/Rhinecliff Bridge. After bridge, turn right at the second light onto 9G South. 6-7 miles to left turn onto Route 19. 10 miles to right turn onto Taconic State Parkway South. Exit at Route 44 (Troop K Barracks, Poughkeepsie, NY). End of ramp, turn left onto Route 44 east (past Millbrook, NY, it turns into Route 343.) Follow (10 miles) to Route 22 North, turn left. At signs for Taconic DDSO and Tenmile River Station (about 2 miles), turn right onto County Road 105 (Sinpatch Road). Stay right, go over railroad tracks. When Sinpatch Road takes a left turn, take the slightly further left onto Benton Road. The Sanctuary will be on the right.

Trains leave approximately every two hours. Please call the Sanctuary at 845-877-6093 before you leave New York for a ride from Tenmile River Station. The Sanctuary is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and for special events.
