Planet Peace Day is the largest annual Peace Pals event at the Sanctuary, designed especially for local schoolchildren to gather together to learn, play, create, and embrace a harmonious relationship with nature and each other.

This field trip focuses on an Earth Day theme by providing small groups of children with an experiential taste of a wide range of inspirational activities that promote compassion for the natural world and all living things. Children travel through a series of interactive, educational stations – participating in music, art, games, and theater, as well as learning about recycling, animal and plant care, and honoring the Earth. A special feature of the day is the colorful and moving World Peace Flag Ceremony in which the children join voices to recite their wishes for peace in every country of the world as the respective flag is held aloft. The theme of the ceremony and the day is the universal message May Peace Prevail on Earth which fosters an appreciation of the multicultural diversity of our global family.
