Peace Pals at the
World Peace Sanctuary

The main office of the Peace Pals Program is located at the World Peace Sanctuary in the countryside, two hours north of New York City. This is the site of the annual World Peace Festival, an international celebration of humanity, which takes place in the beautiful hills of Amenia, nestled in the Berkshire Mountains.

A serpentine Peace Path leads youngsters on an educational walk past the Peace Poles of nearly 200 countries of the world, up to the ceremonial field ringed with the flags of all nations.

A Peace Labyrinth beckons children and adults into the tranquility of the 125-year-old black walnut grove.

During the Festival, Peace Pals offers an exciting assortment of performances and engaging activities for children under a colorful tent where paper Peace Poles, origami cranes and mandalas can be created alongside the magic of living theatre. A Peace Parade formed by costumed children gathers revelers along the way to the Earth Stage where the World Peace Prayer Ceremony unites the hearts and minds of all people with its universal message May Peace Prevail on Earth.

Other events of particular interest to children that have been held at the Sanctuary are Honoring Martin Luther King, Jr. in January, the Earth Day Peace Fair in April, Planet Peace Day (a field trip for schoolchildren) in the spring, and Thanksgiving for the Earth in November. Peace Pals also sponsors events such as festivals, exhibitions, contests, and educational programs, including a summer Peace Arts Camp for local children. Field trips to the Sanctuary may also be arranged for local schools with the consent of the Peace Pals staff.
