As usually I try not to flood your inbox mail with forwarded messages, this time I do wish to share it with you.

This following message specially touched my heart as on that date, August 19 a group of Israelis will meet in Gaza a group of Palestinians also from the West Bank to erect another Peace Pole. I'm sure those of you who heard about the endless efforts to encourage Israelis and Palestinians to meet together on human basis, will appreciate this "coincidental" of having our Peace Pole ceremony in Gaza, after 3 months break resulted by the recent tensioned events in our region, at the same time of World Peace Festival 2000. The World Pray for Peace Association are looking for 1,000,000 people to pray together for peace, I'm sure there are much more than this, please let us all come together in our prayers:

We were praying for peace with you during our visit at the Jabalya refugees' camp in Gaza. Each of the participants received a copy of your message in regard the August 19 event in the file I prepare to give away include the "May Peace Prevail on Earth" stickers in English Hebrew and Arabic. During our meeting I read to them in Hebrew and English and it was translated to Arabic the following:

We (my family and some of our Peace museum activists) will participate your
One Million Voices for Peace World Peace Festival on 19 August 2000 as
we joined the Global link for peace on Hiroshima Day on 6 August. I wish you
to know that on the 5th August 2000 we have successfully inaugurated the
photographic exhibition "The A­Bomb and Humanity" (including a set of
40 panels) in the premises of the Samarkand State Museum of Culture
and Arts of Uzbekistan, which is the biggest and most important museum in
the area. The expo is dedicated to the coming Independence Day of the
Republic of Uzbekistan, to the International Year for a Culture of Peace,
to commemorate the 55th anniversary of atomic bombing of Hiroshima
and Nagasaki. We organized this expo jointly with our Japanese partners
­ Nihon Hidankyo and  ­ Japan Consumers' Co­operative Union who
supported the project and organized shipment of the exhibits to our
Peace Museum. The exhibit will be on display until 5 September 2000.

I am planning to organize a small WPPC at Kyoto, the most authentic
city in Japan. Around 20 people are expected to join us.

And at Gontakura in Fukushima Prefecture, north central of Japan,
another WPPC is being planned now.

At Kumamoto city in Kyushu, 300 people will attend the WPPC on
19th, too.

The members of the Baha'i Faith in Port Washington and Saukville, Wisconsin with the help of Baha'is from all over the state are sponsoring an all day Festival for World Peace and World Unity in Port Washington on August 19 called the "One Earth, One Family Festival". We have people from various groups, Dances of Universal Peace, drumming,
youth performers, singers and a weaving that all can help to weave as a
symbol of our need for unity with diversity..

At 2:00 Central Time we will join you in Prayer for World Unity and World Peace as the Oneness of Mankind is the primary principle and goal of the Baha'i Faith.

I am writing to you from Hummingbird Ranch in northern New Mexico where a
group of about 20 of us joined the Million Prayers for Peace, as we gathered
around our peace pole.  We are holding a Permaculture Workshop here,
honoring the earth and attuning deeper to living in a sustainable manner in
respect for all life.

We have vivid memories of being at the World Peace Festival in Amenia in
1995 when we brought the Children's Torch of Hope to the Festival.  We honor
the great work you all are doing on behalf of all life and peace on Earth.

We would love to know how to access a report of the link-up and the response
of how many participated.  Please email me with the way in which I might
access this information.  I tried on the website, but was not able to get
information after the live broadcast was complete.

Dear friends!
We were able (against expectations!) to be on-line with you yesterday
and it was a wonderful experience. We were very moved when saying the
words "May Peace Prevail in ..." together with you in Amenia and with
all others who were with you in spirit and on-line. The whole experience
was very impressive and touching.
With the mentioning of several countries we immediately felt the
specific troubles that those countries are going through right now, but
we could also feel the Light of our prayers touching them. It is
wonderful to know that in such a simple and sober way - right from the
Heart - we can all together as with One Voice raise the Spirit of
mankind.

Yes, we will participate in the World Peace Prayer on Saturday...by the way we have a Peace Pole in our front yard!  We also
donated one to the Unity Church here in Hot Springs several years ago...in fact, we were told at the time, that our personal
Peace Pole was only the 2nd one to be installed in Arkansas and the one at the Church was the 3rd.
