The only way to live in the moment is to forgive the past. Everything happens for a reason, though it may be hard to understand this now over time one must accept reality. Good and evil lead us to live a balanced life; on September 11th 2001, evil prevailed. Though it is unfair and hard to understand we all must search for a part ourselves that we can use to forgive, we must turn to God not away from him. Faith is the most stable and calming reality we know trust it and live it.

I lost my uncle 5 years ago in the 9/11 terror attacks. The prayer I am submiting is in loving memory of him. He is and always will be in all of our prayers, we love you Tommy.

God, we ask you to watch over all of these families and guide them with your everlasting love. Show them light where it is dark and hope where it seems hopeless. Help those who have turned there backs find a passionate ground, help them to see your good and open their hearts to your love once again.

Mother Earth in her birthing pains, is working hard to cleanse herself and asks humanity to wake up to our collective purpose as a human tribe: Living is about loving. We come her from the loving arms of the Creator as Spirits around whom he/she wraps his/her love. May we see each other with clean hearts and Good Minds, seeking what is the highest and the best for one another, caring for one another, raising the collective consciousness for the human tribe to one of Faith instead of Fear, demonstrating the highest form of courage which is generosity, being altruïstic and optimistic instead of pessimistic egotistical beings only concerned for Self. We are each meant to shine as a partical of light, each as a molecule of the great intent of Goodness which many of you call God. Walk the Red Road in beauty, caring for one another and respecting all within the Sacred Web of Life. Until we truly "get" this lesson, it will keep coming in ways that Humankind cannot control. Often the human tribe listens and helps one another when there is no other choice. When we were tribal our ancestors understood at the very deepest roots that caring deeply for one another and ensuring that justice in its truest sense was carried out ensured the survival of the tribe. I ask all members of the Human Tribe to do what they can to manifest a greater Light of Love in the world, for themselves, for their children, for the seven generations not only in their own blood memory lines or in their own spiritual lines but across the lands for all of Humankind. Remember that the Land has memory. When we come together in good ways with good intent, thought, word and action we awaken the Sacred Places like acupuncture pressure points on the body of our Mother Earth. Focussing on healing her instead of hurting one another, focussing on faith instead of fear, on power with instead of control over/ suffer under is so very essential not only to our survival as a Human Tribe and to the survival of many species, but to the ability to thrive in balance together walking gently on the face of our Great Mother. We have seven years left according to the Mayan Calendar to shift the energy on this planet. At our most essential level we are molecules of light - vibrations of energy. Let it be good light. Let our lights shine together so that we can alter in a good way the fate of our planet and all life within it. There are many songs of beauty of Earth Peoples around the world. With my whole heart, I sang the Cherokee honour song to my tortured womb when the surgeon held it above me. Hope is eternal, Prayer is powerful. My father says that the greatest sin against a child and against humanity is to steal hope. A depressed person who feels without hope doesn’t see the light in the tunnel. The womb – giver of life that had brought my son and It is sad how many women holding onto pain they should let go of, get breast or uterine cancer. The chalice that carries our souls this time around can only handle so much toxic waste. In February, 1999, after my hysterectomy was completed and I was finally wheeled back to my room, a hospital chaplain at Whitchurch-Stouffville hospital serendipitously placed three Aboriginal Beauty Songs on my side table – Navaho, Cherokee and Lakota, unknowingly honouring the Native spirituality that had helped keep my spirit strong and had helped me live above depression one day at a time. . . The beauty song below, I birthed in the December snow at Winter Solstice, standing with Shane Clodd and members of our women’s drumming circle on farmland, near a pond, close to Barrie, beneath full Grandmother Moon who benevolently illuminated earth’s blanket as the smudge burned so strong in crisp breathy air that it permanently marked the wooden bench near the open eastern doorway. This song from Spirit, has since been sung in many circles. It has been translated in Spanish by two women who practice Subud and sometimes sing in our drumming circle in Markham. It vibrates with good intent. May this good intent multiply the message of September 11, 2005 that we are indeed one anothers' keepers and that we must care for each other. Our movements flow with like powerful, gentle wings of L’outarde, lifting, uplifting, ascending, floating like an airborn wave, then descending to Mother Earth. Together we are “v” for victory, the collective Canada Goose inner child of community, in sync, unified, caring for each other.

An Open Letter to a Terrorist
Can you remember being a child of innocence?
Do you recall having dreams for yourself?
Can you remember loving your parents, your siblings, your grandparents, your friends...
...Yourself?
Do you recall the first time you felt your God within you?
Can you still truly feel Him?
He is not within you if all you can feel is anger and hate.
What is within you is anger and hate, and those alone.
How is it that you can believe now that senseless violence and killing will guide and deliver you to a place of peace... in any realm?
If this earthly world is obliterated, along with you and all the innocents who did not have a chance to live their lives toward grace, how will that grant you the gifts you seem to fully expect?
Your True God does not ask this of you.
If you reach deep within and listen closely, you will find what He has always asked of you...
Only you truly know what that is, but we all know what that is not, if not in our present minds, at least, deep inside the hearts of our souls.
Hate is what it is not.
Hate may fill you with false strength and courage, but it will never, ever lead you on a path to peace.
Murder and suicide, no matter what ideology in which you may wrap them, are the work of evil, and no more.
As mere children, we know these things to be true and are profoundly affected by events in our lives which mirror these truths.
Do you not ever feel true and wondrous joy in anything but killing or dying?
Do you not ever feel even a hint of compassion for your fellow men and women on this great Earth?
Does nothing penetrate the armor of loathing and lust for death you wear heavily upon your human form?
Nothing?
Have you felt love recently? True, real, soulful love - the kind that touches gently the softest parts of your heart and makes you want to live just to love?
Does love even exist within the days of your world?
Hateful love, or the love of hating, does not count. It is empty and soulless, bringing only sadness and fear, and as always follows closely behind, more hate.
Hate empties us. It does not fill us. Only love fills us. Only love.
I want to understand what you are fighting for.
If you and all of your fellow fighters will die in this war and go on to a nirvana I do not understand, then who will actually be left behind to enjoy the spoils?
Your family and former friends?
The very same people who will be mourning you and losing their joy in life because they lost you and now have to deal with the things you have done to them and to the rest of the world?
Or will you take them, and all of us, with you?
Life is a gift not lightly given back.
And joy is not to be found in taking it from others; only pain will be found in the end.
Please think hard about what you are doing: to the world, to your family, to those others who love you, and to yourself...
Will your God really love and welcome you for these deeds?
Will your loved ones be able to forgive you and themselves once these atrocities are all perpetrated?
When residing in your nirvana, will your soul be able to forgive you for what you have done?
Will your God?
How will peace ever be derived from violence???
Mere Earthly history alone has shown that this cannot be done.
Residing with evil in any realm brings only pain, and regret travels easily with us wherever we go.
If you have ever felt any guilt or pain or regret and wondered if evil has touched you with its cold, scaly hands, please step back for a moment within your soul and try to see the larger picture of your actions upon all of us who are merely trying to live our own lives just as you once were... before you were taught to hate so fully and completely...
The rest of the entire world is not evil.
We are all just people, like you, trying to figure out why we are here and what our purpose in life is to be...
We are trying every day not to lose our minds attempting to understand the complexities - the sadnesses, the losses, and the reasons for them, along with the joys and the simple pleasures afforded if we are paying attention - of this life we have been given.
We are simply human beings, being human beings, doing what human beings do: groping our way through days of challenges and joys, ebbs and flows, loves and losses, laughs and tears.
We just want to live.

We were visiting my brother in law in N.Y.on the 11th Sept.when the unbelievable happened.I'm a zen monk, so I sat down at the small appartement and started to pray right away(shikantaza).First there was only fear.After a while I conciously surrendered all to God and only then light and tranquility came back.Later on we found out, that praying at that moment has saved our lives.( Mine and my wifes)Thank you Lord.Bless you all.

I can't separate the two.
When I read about the Teachings,
They can from a certain place to me.
I get inspired when I think about all the yogis,
doing solitary retreats in some cave.
I want to do more than place a bumper sticker on my car.
Otherwise, I won't be able to sleep at night.
I just never had a cause before;
