Karachi Peace Pole makes a statement – Pakistan

The Peace Education Welfare organization in Karachi, Pakistan hosted the annual DOSTI event in collaboration with the British Council, the Karachi United Football Foundation, SMB Fatima Jinnah Government Girl’s School, Azad Foundation and the Committee of Monitoring & Improvement of Schools.

A locally crafted Peace Pole standing over 9 feet tall was dedicated with the universal message, May Peace Prevail On Earth, in the English, Urdu, Sindhi, Punjab and Bolochi languages.   Throughout the event, various activities for peace took place including Walk for Peace, Songs for Peace, Peace Bands, Art for Peace and social action projects and petition signing ceremonies.

It was a huge success in planting the awareness of peace throughout the community with attendants of more than 1000 youths.  The event was also honored by the presence of Dr. Siddique, Karachi Commissioner and Ms. Qaim Khani of the Social Welfare office.
