Calgary's Peace Pole – a public space for you, CANADA

September 20th, 2009

Hi Ann Marie Robustelli,

My apologies for not replying sooner to your email from a year ago! Thanks for noticing the Calgary Peace Pole website and our efforts.

We have always been careful to include the background about where the Peace Pole concept originated as well as the link to The World Peace Prayer Society on our information about the Calgary’s Peace Pole Project. It is in the background information section of the website, and is a part the brochure that we hope to have at the Peace Pole site. I have updated the contact page of the website to include the contact information for The World Peace Prayer Society if people have general inquiries about Peace Poles.

Peace,
Diane Janzen, on behalf of the Calgary Peace Pole Committee

Calgary’s Peace Pole was unveiled in a celebration on September 20, 2009 and is a gift to the citizens of Calgary from the members of the Calgary Peace Pole Committee and the organizations, businesses, and individuals who donated time, materials or money towards the project.

We invite you to use the peace pole and plaza as place for personal reflection and or as a gathering point for groups for peace related events. Please contact us if a group you are a part of uses the peace pole as a gathering point as we’d like to try and keep a record of such events.
