PEACE POLE IN HONOR OF EARTH DAY, LAKE KATRINE, NY, USA

April 22nd, 2010

Hello Ann Marie,

I wanted to share our Peace Pole dedication pictures and a brief story with you.

We are a 6-8 middle school in Lake Katrine, New York (Miller Middle School). We have a student population of about 900 coming from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. On Earth Day of 2010 our environmental club, which I co-advise, helped plant our school’s first Peace Pole. Our dedication ceremony involved the whole school. Our message was one of peace, understanding, and acceptance that we hope our student body will embrace. Our Peace Pole is in the middle of a courtyard which the school surrounds and we hope that students and staff will find themselves looking at the Peace Pole and reflecting on their own lives. Thank you for contacting me and we look forward to years of our Peace Pole bringing our students and staff peace and happiness.

May Peace Prevail On Earth!

Sincerely,

Bruce Cobb
