Professor Ervin László attends Peace Pole Planting on July 19, 2008

Student Tamás Sleiner of the University of Pécs, Hungary, was one of the organizers of the 12th International Culture Week in Pécs in July 2008, A youth festival, which has been growing each year. Mr. Sleiner inspired by the peace message May Peace Prevail On Earth took the initiative to suggest a Peace Pole planting at the University during the festival.

Special guest at the festival this year was Hungarian Professor Erwin Laszlo. The professor gave his keynote speech of the conference at the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Pécs. In his holistic approach he touched upon the various elements of the complex issue of “planetary consciousness” which is the fundamental understanding of our world that serves as an incentive to take personal and local actions for a more sustainable way of life.

Mr. Laszlo is the founder of the Club of Budapest, supporter of The World Peace Prayer Society and author of countless books such as “You Can Change the World” which features an article of The World Peace Prayer Society Chairperson, Masami Saionji.

British Ethologist and UN Messenger for Peace, Jane Goodall, sent a video message to the conference participants.

MAY PEACE PREVAIL ON EARTH!
