USA High School sends Peace Pole to its partner High School in Germany-April, 2008

In April 2008, the Anne Frank School in Havixbeck, Germany, received a Peace Pole from the school’s partner school in Maple City, Michigan USA. Both, the English teacher and the German students were pretty surprised about this unexpected gift. The Peace Pole will serve as a reminder to students from both schools regarding their commitment to partnership that was initiated in 1999. In addition to German, English and Spanish, the Peace Pole features the language of a Native American Nation tribe named Ojibwa. The school’s Headmaster, Mr. Niehaus was very impressed and will use the Peace Pole as a daily reminder to keep peace and cooperation ever present in our minds.
