Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day-December 7, 2008

News from Peace Rep, Lt. Renee Marie – USA 

Two Peace Poles were dedicated on Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, December 7th, 2007 in McClellan, California only miles away from Sacramento, the State Capitol. The events were organized by Peace Rep Lt. Reneé Marie who is Chief Patient Administration Officer at the McClellan AFB. The first Peace Pole which was dedicated to all Warriors in Transition was planted in Peacekeeper Park within the Base compound.

Commander puts a plaque on the pole to dedicate it to Warriors in Transition on Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day after reading a quote from Gen. Douglass MacArthur:The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war.”

In the afternoon, the second Peace Pole was planted with children of the F.C. Joyce Elementary School in North Highlands, CA. Lt. Reneé Marie writes: “I just love this picture of this young student placing a flag that the students in HIS class made! Each of the flags appearing were hand made by students.”
